I’m on the verge of getting out. My 2020 Cascadia is paid for. What is the easiest way to sell? Is it worth it to consign it? I’m not overly concerned about the fees involved if they’re reasonable. It’ll be a few months before I exit as I need to get my personal ducks in a row, which includes establishing a permanent residence. Not having a place to park the truck other than the operating center is a hindrance too, which is a key reason I’m thinking of consigning it. Any tips or other input is appreciated.
List it on eBay, facebook Marketplace and Truck Paper. Marketplace gets you the most inquiries but they are mostly tire kickers or everyone is looking to offer you 50% of your asking. I had more serious inquiries from Truckpaper and ended up selling to a person who found it on eBay. The key is to put it out there. You’ll get the most money selling yourself and people prefer to buy directly too. At last they get some insight on trucks history.
I was going to list mine on Truckpaper. Then I talked to them. The most basic listing, which they really don't want to even sell you, is hundreds of dollars. There is an approval process for your listing too, all sorts of stuff I didn't know or like. I never thought in a million years you could sell a commercial truck on Facebook, then I looked. Tons and tons of em on there. I put mine on there for 2 weeks and it was gone. Didn't cost me a dime. Got a great price from a guy 2 hours south of me.
if there’s a dealer nearby you could check and see, they’d list and even finance through them, you’d get your money when someone buys it. may cost extra 2500, so adjust price. Anymore people don’t want to know the end cost, just price per month. Open more opportunities. just a thought
Consignment is absolutely my easiest option, due largely to my personal circumstances. A few grand in fees isn’t going to bother me.
plus you don’t have to deal with the tire kickers. # 1 reason I either sell my used stuff to a dealer or consign it through them. Just drop it off and sign the title, mail me the check whenever. i have a business to business service business (trucking) because dealing with broke people that are living in dreamland isn’t my thing.
