So things have been nuts since the end of January. We went to Florida after Christmas to visit the kids and grandkids. While we were there we met with a real estate agent to look at a few houses for shatz and giggles. Well before we left we made an offer and on a house in Milton, Florida ( near Pensacola)

Let me back up, before we made the offer I called FCC to see if we made the move, could I stay leased on here. We have several customers in Southern Alabama, the powers that be gave their blessing, so we moved forward.

We close on the new house on Valentine’s Day (the wife should never complain again I don’t splurge on Valentine’s Day), so we will be down there for a week, then come back and close on the sale of our house in SC at the end of the month. So needless to say things have been crazy, and will be for a few more weeks.

The wife is retiring, she might get a part time job in a few months, but she has wanted to be closer to the kids and grandkids for awhile now. Our oldest granddaughter is actually going to give us a great grandson in 5 months. You know the old saying, happy wife happy life.

Way to go. The SC real estate market must still be okay. Maybe the humidity will be less in FL

That’s a decent area of florida too..near the grand kids and the beaches and such…can’t go wrong..

In seven years of owning the house in Sc we will sell it for double what we paid for it. Not a bad investment.

Welcome to Florida!!!! We need more sensible people down here instead of all the blue hairs from the northeast. And that's the best side of Florida to live, not a big fan of the Atlantic side of the state. You'll love it...until the 1st big hurricane...but once you burst your hurricane cherry as a homeowner...you won't ever worry about them again.

I grew up on the Texas gulf coast, so I’m no newbie when it comes to hurricanes and tropical storms. I will invest in a generator though.
