Trucks a 90 peterbilt 379. 3406b in it. The engine just dies. This issue seems to only happen when it's at operating temp. And only seems to happen so far when I'm coming to a stop and clutch it or at times when I rev it and let off suddenly. Never under load. I can usually save it and keep it running if I catch it in time and give it fuel but if I dont it just dies. It doesn't happen at every stop. It doesn't happen every time I let off but it happens enough to be a pain in the rear. Any help would be appreciated
That’s pretty close you can bump it to 7. Look at the very back of the pump. You gonna see a 7/16 nut with like a flat head set screw in it. Crack the nut turn the set screw out 1/2 turn that’s gonna give the dash pot a little more oil and hopefully fix your issue if not you probably need to have the governor section worked on
That seems to have worked. Drove it around for 40 minutes and couldn't get it to replicate like I could before. Gonna unhook and do it again tomorrow and see if it does it but thank you for the help and quick replies
Took it out today for a few hours and that seemed to work. It wouldn't replicate what it was doing the other day at all no matter how hard I tried. So I believe it's good to go. Thank you for the help
