My husband is just finishing up his last week of training in Brimingham this week and will get his own truck when he gets back! So far Boyd has been a great company! His last week out w/ his trainer, my grandma died and Boyd made sure to get him home in time for the funeral! No questions asked!! I was prepared to get him a copy of death certificate or anything else I thought they would want but they didn't! In fact they told my husband that if they couldn't get them a load back to Cincy they would put him on a bus to get home!! I think they are a great company so far and so does my husband!

wished they allowed doggies :yes2557: Maybe i would give them a shot.
Are their trucks automatic, super 10, or just 10? What do they haul? Do they haul to Canada?

In my orientation....One guy had a recent DUI another had a abandonment on his DAC. One other was missed too much had to go home. Another failed the drug test. Two others failed the road test. These numbers are a fact. Plus add one person in the future that might get fired and one or two that quit because they don't like trucking or flatbed. Thats 9 right there. Me speakum fact...:biggrin_25525: ugg

Ok, so ur class had a bad percentage. They're allowed from time to time. I can say that if ur doin drugs or u can't drive u shouldn't b on this industry anyways. Either way, as long as ur clean u won't have a problem at boyd. I know most classes r passing most students. I try to keep tabs on them since I train. By the way, how many started in ur orientation?

No pti required. Just remember two numbers, 1000 n 1250. 1000 rpms for low side n 1250 for high side. N no, absolutely no down shifting until needed. Coast in gear to stop sign or light. David will tell u n than give u driving test. N another thing, spread axle don't back up like a van trailer. Just take ur time. N when u do driving test u will have to set up for a straight line back. Remember to get out n look before backing.

I agree 100% If your hireable (is that a word?)...they want you. If you have problems they dont. We had 9 in class in Cinn. 4 went with trainers.
    I really like this company!

Man are you right about not backing up the same. They steer on there own if you stop while in a turn then back up. Also it depends where the load is too. It seems to back up different every time.

Ain't that the truth. U will get the hang of it soon. Just challenge urself. When u r on ur own go to trk stop n challenge urself in gettin in tight spots while the trk stop isnt full. I try to back at least ten times a day to stay refreshed. N I've been doin it for four years now. Well u gotta keep me posted through final week n get that trk num when u get dun. I gotta run for today. B back on road round midnite heading to Norfolk, VA. Have a blessed day n rest of ur weekend smoke.
