I would, I find my truck has a sweet spot at about 83. Smooth and the engine is in the power band, pulls good and not to bad on fuel.
    Running 65 all day i get 6.0 to 6.1.
    80 mph i'm still getting 5.6 to 5.8.

The company I worked for had about 100 drivers at the time I worked for them. I was praised and ranked 4th with a 6.4 mpg average. :) You run them speeds it drops a little.

The way the industry thinks is, it is perishables that have to get there. Every hour the product sits on a truck is an hour less the store has to sell it. They want their stuff and they want it quick.

The industry is adapting by moving to team. But as long as the speed limits are there they are going to do them.

Straight road? Heck... put the cruise on 60, run the seat back, put a pillow under the wheel - it's time to snooze!

And this week the state highway commision had ruled that the rest of the rural interstates in Texas can go from 70 to 75.
Only the urban interstates will stay at their current speed limits.

    Hammer Down!!!!
