Could the blue trucks have belonged to another company before?

Crete and Shaffer are the same company, Shaffer trucks are blue, but they just get assigned as needed. Crete drivers get blue trucks and Shaffer drivers get red trucks sometimes.

And it's been that way for years . As you said, they just assign what they have sitting there.

Crete is a privately owned , debt free company. They have no reason to buy used equipment.

Buzzards like him look at us as a low value commodity. He is, of course, wrong. We are a high value commodity.

I would hire you because you want to earn money and run. Too many new drivers want to sit and tell stories. We used to call them "Truck Stop Charlies."

    I would!!!

    True.

When I was there, home time was flexible. When they lowered their rates again and increased driver pay, there was a string attached (as always) for new drivers: you have to stay out working or be available to work (laid over waiting for for a load).

Helpful hint: You really might want to start using the quote function, like I did, because no one knows which three posts you are replying to.

If I ever get my own truck, I'll have a chromed hood ornament of the Amazing Horse.
