At the Chicago yard the grease is next to the shop, other side of the entrance/exit. Just a hose you apply on and go inside to grab the spray. Do most oc have the mech do it?

I know there is an intermodal yard near Chicago.. think I went there once when I first started with my TE.

Which reminds me, make sure you pick up the booklet with all of the OC and dropyard locations in it. You can enter the location codes right into Navigo and get directions (still check it with Google maps cause some of them can be off by a bit, believe me lol). Many times the dropyards can make a hand parking spot if you're running out of hours and really need a spot to shut down for the night.

I'll do an update of Day 4 tomorrow .

I hope the orientation separated by days helps to be able to see what to expect on your journey

Grease is always somewhere near the shop. Usually in a bucket with either a roller or something else to spread it on with. Just ask the shop guys where it is.

Also, don't disconnect your Qualcomm and run illegal. They just canned like 10 guys that were doing that.

Amen to this. Got stuck in Chicago, right at rush hour, with 24 minutes left on my 14, courtesy of a 4+ hour wait at the shipper. Rolled into the Kostner yard with 2 minutes left...5 miles from the customer. I had only been there once before, so it was sheer luck that I even remebered it was there!!
