Okay this is not me just a friend of mine who works for PTL just told me he had his first Super Trucker moment in one day he went 697 Miles and stopped for the day with 7 minutes left on his clock. Is this a Super Trucker moment or was he under wrong impression of what Super Trucker is? Please feel free to share your "Super Trucker moment" if you had one.
Running my clock to the last 10? I did that a lot. Must be a mega super trucker. Super truckers come in a lot of shapes and forms. Ask Ritcher. He'll tell you how to be one.
Tennessee to Lakeland, FL, unloaded, deadhead to Everglades & loaded produce, took that to West Virginia & unloaded then reloaded at same place and delivered to Columbus, OH & unloaded, then deadheaded to Knoxville before company safety man shut me down. Did all this with no sleep. Not something to be bragging about, that's just the way it was back in the day. Tennessee to Sacramento with only 2 hours sleep at the Petro in Amarillo or Oklahoma City. Stupid thing to do, but back then it was the norm. I'm very fortunate to be alive and relatively healthy. Many drivers that drove like that weren't so fortunate. The word "super trucker" wasn't used then because times were different. There was wide spread use of coffee/caffeine pills, ephedrine and other pills then. I'm glad times have changed, but not to the extent they are now.
Wow he drove 697 miles when he does at least 1,200 get back to me.These rookies have no idea but im with chinatown glad things changed but they went way overboard.
Deadheading to Knoxville and running out of TN, were you with a reffer co around Knoxville back in the day?
I was coming across Nevada in the snow cruising at 60. The road was white but there was really good traction, you could stop with a good amount of pressure and not break lose. I passed some truck that must have been doing 25-30, I'll bet they were thinking I was some crazy super trucker.
Thinking back on it, remember waking up in the sleeper thinking someone was shaking the truck only to discover my heart was beating so hard like it was trying to escape my chest. Many drivers went through that because you feel invulnerable; some drivers I knew didn't live to a ripe old age.
No, Nashville & it wasn't Colonial....lol. Most of those West Coast runs were flatbed with ExpressCo out of Nashville. There was reefer runs also to West Coast. If you remember back then you could be cruising along at 70 mph and Prime trucks would blow past you like nothing. Prime really had their wings clipped since then.
