Valves not lined up with wheels

Actually it does matter or it wouldn't have come up, and I've yet to have a problem with valves on the same side, it's kind of convenient that way (find one, found both).

If I'm not the one doing the tire work, I ALWAYS inspect the valve location prior to leaving the shop. In more than one instance, I have made the kid remove and PROPERLY reinstall a wheel or two and explained WHY it should be done the way I'm insisting it be done. A lot of times, this can be done rather easily by asking the kid to double check the pressure in that inside tire. When he grabs the pressure gauge and tries, he'll see the problem...and fix it without my having to say another word. If he doesn't want to check the pressure, then I inform him of the problem at hand and request he fix it. Either way, by the time I leave the shop, it's going to be done right. If they don't like doing rework, they need to pay attention and do the job right the 1st time.

 

I run mine one hole off so the iner valve is right beside the outer valve. makes for an easy afternoon chasing down the valves. of course I have 30 wheels to keep my eye on also.

 

180 degrees IS 1 hole off on my truck...and only leaves 1 possible location for that other stem if the wheels have multiple holes. "1 hole off" can be to either side (clockwise or counter-clockwise), effectively doubling your search time as opposed to if it had been done properly.

 

180 out is far better than in the same hole. i have 24 tires. i have put them in the same hole before when i flat spotted a couple tires i just spun the whole rim and tire to put the flat spots opposite of each other this put the stems in the same hole and the outside valve stem would be in the way of the inside. it wasn't impossible but just another aggravation.

 

Not sure what kind of wheels you have,but most 10 hole aluminum wheels look like this,generic Alcoa.Again clocked 180 so you know where the inside valve is and also makes a little better balance.

 

i guessing he has steel rims witch only have two holes

 

to clarify-- one hole off as in outer is right beside inner valve stem. as one hole beside the other hole. on alum. balance smalance centeramics cure that. done it like that for over 30 yrs.

 

Yup,And I've done it my way since I started driving a semi in the 60's,howevever many years that is.What ever works for you.No centramatics on my trailer.Every little bit helps.Be safe.
