Swift settled the $500,000,000 class action zip code miles lawsuit for just $5 million. They lawyers were limited to a percentage of the first $5 million so they had zero incentive to fight the lawsuit. It was the only smart choice the lawyers had. Do the bare minimum to file briefs and cash out their percentage for an easy payday. The class got $50 whole bucks each. For my time there I estimated that the short zip code miles came out to about $22,000 bucks. So Swift save a buttload of money and is now emboldened to keep on shorting miles like they have always done.

Many times I'd plug the directions into the GPS and it would say 100 some miles more than the laod paid.
Load offer one time was 56 miles empty, next week comes and they paid me 23 miles empty for that load. I had spent the night in southwest Washington state but they had me dispatched out of Troutdale Oregon. I complained I was never even in Oregon, the load even picked up in Camas Washington.

What was my DM's response? "it's only like $25 bucks right?" like me losing out on $25 bucks should be no big deal. My point was if the preplan shows 56 miles ,that is what the load should pay not be readjusted by some pennypincher back at the office.

Every single trailer in PHX goes to Cali now and you can get stuck in a endless cali loop. The load planners were chuclkling about how they get paid more for dispatching all the cali freight. An I'm like well I don't. I wish I was recording them but I wasn't. Don't even bother trying to get a t-call in Jarupa they are over booked.

    We are not robots
I always thought southwest Airlines was pretty cheap.
The man had 13 months experience thanKS to swift and a great reason to park it.
He probably got a good job and a career going now

The poster tell to sue is correct. I even know the gal to call.

However, what I do not understand is working for Swift.

Exactly, Swift plays on the short your miles scam. In addition to the piece work pay scam, the promise but not pay detention scam, promise but never pay layover scam, not fix the truck scam, get the driver to fix the truck scam, get the driver to fix the trailer scam, get the driver to clean out the trailer scam, get the driver to clean out someone elses truck mess scam, search for empty scam, sliding mile scam, local pay scam, fantasy route scam, fantasy load scam, 'do us a favor' and we will stack you scam, 'that is not illegal' scam, poor routing scam, coerce the driver to accept the late load scam, their is no freight scam, the hot load scam, wait around for unpaid for dispatch scam, pay the lumper scam, buy parts for truck scam, OSD scam, safety training scam, unload the truck for free scam, can't get driver home scam, some home time is required scam, playing favorites scam, 'how you run' scam, the recruiting scam, the truck warranty scam, government subsidies scam, the seasonal trucking scam, change the dispatch scam, the average miles scam, the bribe your dispatcher scam, and the DAC scam. Although, I am sure I am missing a few scams the Swift enjoys taking part in.

If that isn't bad enough some drivers opt. for fleecing scam, the dedicated scam, the poor training scam, the trucking school scam, the accident scam, the mentor scam, and the preventable scam. It is like Swift is a whole business based on scams! I know, or at least I think, Swift doesn't take you in a dark room somewhere and torture you, but with so many scams running I cannot get over how many drivers defend them.
