Used one will just wear out. Go get you a new one. Lol. I think I'm going to buy one that doesn't need grease.
i haven't heard good things about the one's that dont need grease.. I got to find a shop to adjust mine i did a little bit of adjusting but im scared to adjust it too much
No I definitely rolled it back up and then put it on my shoulder and climbed back up the load... I didn't get my tarps from Mercer these came from Tarp stop... Not the lightest in the world. Thing is when I bought these the guy told me I would be fine with one 6 foot drop with flap, and two 4 foot drops with flaps. The issue is they only have D rings on two sides so turning my 4 footers side ways does no good without Drings... Being green to flatbeding, I didn't have much of an argument lol.... until now.... For the time being I told my coordinator after this disaster I had with this load I'm only doing 4 foot tarps... I eventually will get another 6 foot tarp so I have a pair and then will start taping higher loads. The thing about this whole load was that I asked the guy loading my trailer could I set my tarps out and he lift them up with the forklift onto my loaded trailer, he shakes his head... He's a Mexican guy so I didn't think much of it but that we just had a language barrier going on... So I put the tarps on the last skid which was only 3 foot high thinking when he lifts the skid my tarps would go up with it and he wouldnot have to do anything else... I grab a drink of water from my truck come back and the skid is on The deck and my tarps are on the ground???? I'm like WTF.... So I go in the building ask why did my tarps get taken off the skids and they tell me they do not assist in putting the tarps on trailers???? But the forklift operator would take the time to get off of his machine and throw my tarps back on the ground???????? So to make a long story short I threw the tarps on the truck as quick is possible and got the hell away from that place... I can't remember a time in a looooong time that I've been sooooo mad.... How I didn't punch that guy in his mouth is beyond me... I'm not a violent person either, I'm a nice guy...
I typed that on my phone and spaced it out but loOKs like it's came out in 1 big paragraph.... Anyhow I won't ever go to that place for a load again... As far as I'm concerned any place that is ignorant to where they won't use the forklift to put tarps up on a high load for a driver, is a place I'm not interested in loading at.
Next time you run into that, tell them to take the load off your trailer then. I've been to a couple of places like that, and when they knew I was serious they put the tarps up on the load. I ain't carrying anything that big and heavy up onto a load. Not worth getting hurt over.
