Just trying to worn you, didn't mean to upset you. How about this, Saia sucks!!!!! Stay away!!!! Is that better?
As I said, they're just another, "last resort" option. While I'm working right now, I'm not exactly fond of how low the pay has dropped when it comes to the food grade tanker racket. One night, you're doing next to nothing. The next night, you're given 4-5 dairies to load, turn around and drop, and then load again. But end only being able to hit 3 thanks to distance and pump time. $65/load-out is pennies for all the time burned. Been at the moo-juice for five years and I've hit the top end and bounced back down in this operation. Once I get another word back from the many places I've applied/reapplied to, a cow-tipping I will go!!
On a brighter note, finally got a call back for a Regional OTR position in SATX and a P&D position in Albuquerque for actual interviews!! I'm going to hit the one in ABQ first and see what happens since it'll be the less difficult of a move.
Different recruiter this time around. Since this is the first time I've received more than a few emails, might as well bite on!!
Well, we'll see what happens by Monday with that one. One P&D position and the manager said six applicants. I also had a phone interview arranged for the San Antonio linehaul position for tomorrow. From what I've been grilling the various LTL's in the Albuquerque area, no one ever leaves and stays as long as they can. So as much as I try to fight it, I could only hack at the dreaded, relocation option with a dull blade for so long. CA-to-NM was hard enough five years ago. Now it's NM-to-Wherever at this point. In the end, state pride ramifications(ugh, Tejas) have to be overlooked in order to get those bills paid.
Still no word from any of the spots I applied to with them. Could be a mixed blessing of some sorts seeing the negative reviews that keep popping up. You get on anywhere else at the moment? I'm still debating on whether or not to hit up Core-Mark/ABQ on Monday to see what else I have to do to get on over there. As mentioned earlier, ODFL is still twidling their thumbs, and Estes PnD in Albuquerque already picked someone else with more LTL experience than I got. In the meantime, I've been contemplating switching over to the Clovis-to-San Antonio runs they got here with Indian River just to get more of a consistent paycheck without much hassle. As mentioned before, the cheesplant shuttling is getting real inconsistent and barn loading pays waaaaaay too little for all the work involved. Might as well rack up some paid miles on top of loading my own trailer each trip.
