Mercer's new load board

Of course they don't know what they are selling. Neither does anyother used truck dealer. The trucks get a cursory dot inspection and cleaning. Basically they look at lights and brakes.

 

Most mega fleets keep decent maintenance records of the trucks they are trading, etc. I wouldn't buy a used truck unless I had access to the maintenance records, as they will obviously provide a pretty good picture of the nature of that truck.

 

How often do you book outside freight?

 

And how often do you negotiate terms of a company load?

 

What do you mean "outside freight", like something you find on your own, through an outside load board? Me personally, never... People here, Mercer thread, say its possibly, I think @HalpinUout attempted it but the Mercer agent told him that it had to run the board first, so no guarantee he would get it. Seems to be to much of a hassle IMO.

 

I only ask for more money if an agent calls wanting me to do a load... I take that as them being desperate and needing the load covered.

 

That's correct. I've been told by a couple drivers here though that some Agents would have given me the load though... Guess it depends on the Agent... But I certainly wouldn't come here thinking your going to be getting Loads off of DAT and other load boards all the time...

 

OK so it looks like we can agree to call it "willful ignorance".
