I'm not denying that you can make money out there. What I'm saying is that OVERALL, at least according to people I know who ran their own show, rates are lower now then they were a few years back.

Its really sad that theres such a knee jerk reaction to a question being asked. Whats that term? Oh yeah, snowflake. I didnt know those existed in trucking!! LOL.

 

I’m an immigrant. 14 years now. Citizen for 9 years.

Owner Operator for 3 years now.

RPM to the truck has increased from $1.70 to $2.50 in that time.

1 truck and 2 trailers paid for.

Tens of thousands of tax dollars contributed, and wages created.

In the future, admit up front you have a bias towards immigration (legal and otherwise I'm guessing?) before you post.

Good for you that you became a citizen. Far, far too many dont. Off the politics now, and onto the question. Compare rates from 10 years ago to now. Which period was/is better? Because like I said, from my discussions, rates today arent as good as they were back then. Amd if theyre not, then why not?

He is right about people of diverse origins, to not offend your delicate sensibilities, being more than willing to work for amounts to minimum wage and driving rates down.

 

Yes everything is racist anymore, unless you say we should not only let everybody in our country, but we shouldn't care if they break any laws getting here.
