It’s good to have someone you can trust.

I’ve been where I’m at for over six years now for that very reason. I don’t even have to ask. If they took the load, it pays good enough to run it.

Boss and I both have the same way of thinking on this: If I’m gonna go broke, it’ll be sittin in my recliner, not tryin to outbid the next guy.

Is it a 150 mile round trip or 150 each way? If it’s a rounder you can figure 7 hours in the load with loading and unloading. 700 would be about a hundred per. Eh, ok not great. If it’s 300 mile rounder it’s cheap.

I booked one today - it’s not till Feb 11th, goes 10 miles for $1750.

Agent asked me to price it, blah de blah - comes down to time. It’s 90 miles from the house, takes 3 hours to load, same to unload probably.

After all said and done - $1300 for the day. I’m ok with that.

I’ve become more focused on time spent lately.

Time spent is how I price most everything. Per mile doesn’t mean ####. How do carpenters, mechanics heavy equipment operators pice things? If a truck shop can get a 175 bucks an hour I think I should too. Equipment operators charge differently for different equipment, trucking is no different.

Well @Ruthless I don't base my rates on them. But lets say you see the same load get put out by three brokers. Now you know they are price shopping. Then it your broker calls. You know its not moving. Add 100.00 to your normal rate. Plus watching them, you know if your direct customers are price shopping too! Bought as far as I care to go on here.
