Please show me the law or regulation that makes double brokering illegal. If you can, I'll give you a cool million out of the settlement I get once the lawsuit against the big blue star gets rolling.

So your answer is to post an article that does not say anywhere that double brokering is illegal?

So back to the original request, about you show me the law, or regulation without referring to someone else's opinions.

Chicago has plenty of flatbed freight get away from Mercer their agents suck. The other problem is Mercer will not haul anything dealing with automotive, or oil industries. Dont believe me look up their DOT# Was there 1 1/2 yrs and noticed changes in freight, office staff, and overall attitude decided to get out. Made the move and had most profitable month since I signed with Mercer, and only worked 3 weeks. I Haul coils outta Ghent, the mills in Indiana, Cleveland and Tennessee. Picking up tomorrow East Chicago, Indiana single coil and driving straight thru to Bowling Green Kentucky for a 21:00 delivery appt. Guarantee I reload within 150 miles Tuesday morning and head to either OH, IN, or Chicago. I’m averaging $2.27/all mile. Home every weekend sometimes a couple nights a week too. Not only that my brother-in-law works OTR for Schneider and his pay stubs come in an envelope that says Mercer / Schneider??? Mercer is not the same as it was years ago they are running open deck on their past reputation, but word is getting out fast that they aren’t what they use to be.

I guess the recruiter is blowing smoke up my ### because I was told that not only are they available daily but I can do more than one a day.

I dont mind working hard and paying my dues but when I say not making money I mean taking home 1500 not zero.

Dry van local has the same problem. Most of these guys know theyre not making any money but as long as theyre home theyre happy. Cant say I blame them but thats the reason Ive been doing regional. Im home on the weekends but Im spending too much time sitting in my truck not knowing what do with myself. Id figure if I move over to flatbed I can spend the time working on loads instead of laying in my bunk and yes hopefully make more money.

Hows regional at Mercer? Do they have dedicated runs? Would it be possible loop Chicago to Cleveland all week and take off the weekends.

I appreciate the information so far.

LOL I dont mind taking a pay cut as long as Im learning and moving forward. Choices are really limit when you have no experience.

What kind of numbers were you grossing when you worked for them?

Been hearing this from a lot of people.

Any suggestions on companies I should look into as someone with no experience.
