Depends on which neighborhood. I stayed in Hessville, which wasn’t too bad but at the same time I was half a block away from Gary city limits(Cline Ave was an artificial boundary between the two cities). To my knowledge they still haven’t caught the sniper that was using semis for “target practice” along Cline Ave,in spite of the fact that the Lake County Sheriffs Dept. put up a $25,000 bounty!

Altom was a great company when I was there in the 90's But when Tom Sr ( great guy ) retired it went down hill , the reason for the Chicago offices is for the oil company side ( warren oil ) , the Transport side ( altom ) is based out of Indiana for taxes ( Plates and workmans comp ) as the law says the state you apply in for the job is the state you pay to and recieve benefits from , not the state you reside in .

Most of the guys I worked with are now gone ( retired )

I lived there in 1998. Girlfriend cheated on me and threw all my stuff on the front lawn.

So I'm with him. Hammond is terrible. Lmfao

I thought the OP said it all, according to him, after he mentioned Hammond. But, here I sit with a couple of minutes wasted reading the rest of the post.

And, kudos to him! He warned me he said it all. And, I’m here to tell he was right! But, did I listen?

    Nooooooooooooo
