Just chillaxin' in my sleeper I hear this CRUNCH! Look out and see Roehl just backed into a bobtail Volvo. There's a 3 spot area not 5 trucks away. Broad daylight. My neighbor is in his truck but never bothered to blow his horn, or get out to help and watched it happen. He was just talking to Roehl a minute ago.
Yep. And of course if that driver that was backing up had only "blown his horn," then the bobtail would have heard it and could have moved. Even if the driver was inside the truck stop taking a shower. . .
yeah blowing that horn will really help get that trailer out of your way. I'm just guessing but I'm gonna say most backing accidents are from hitting a non moving object so this does nothing. From what I heard this is coming because a student ran over a mentor while he was messing with the tandems. Supposedly this has happened twice recently according to my mentor's DM. Getting out won't help that and neither will the horn. Its just common sense, don't get under a truck while someone else is at the wheel, especially a student.
I was at a TA the other day and somewhere in there a Swifty was backing up beeping his horn and OMG there were at least 10 guys haveing a feild day with it on the CB, it was hilarious! Aparently the word has gotten out they all knew about the new "rule" lol American Trucker
For the love of everything holy PLEASE don't get out in your underwear! Someone please pass the eye bleach!
WHAT? You mean you would rather he take his underwear off? Anybody ever tell you that you are a bit "different" sometimes?
Here's the correct question Big Don...."Doesn't everybody tell you that you are a bit "different" all the time?"
