I have a question. I know every company is different, but generally speaking, if my license was suspended for 2 years but didn't get it back till like 8 yrs later, out of laziness, how long would I have to wait for a cdl if it is valid now? Any help would be appreciated.
So did you effectively NOT have a license for 10 years? or just 8? HR people will ask how you managed to get around for that much time. This will be on applications. As will WHY it was suspended. You NEED to be honest about it. It WILL affect how SOME see you at hiring time.
OP you are good to go provided your driving record is clear. After you get your CDL (or even before in the situations your making school applications) look closely at all the history questions. Answer them honestly. If your asked for a 5 year history don't volunteer a 10 year history. Your OK, you are not damaged goods. You might have a bit of tidying up to do, but just be honest and I am almost positive you will come out in great shape!
It was Suspended two years. I never reinstated it for an additional 8 yrs. It was Suspended for possession of marijuana less than 2 oz. It happened in 2003 or 2004. It is now reinstated but I need to renew it, as it has obviously expired.
