OK so the law is 10 hours of driving or 14 hours of on duty. How many people actually follow this because we alllllll know if the wheels aint turning we aint earnin. plus if if i did drive the 10 hrs wtf am i gonna do with the other 12 i cant sleep more than 6 on a good day so that leave me twiddling my thumbs for 6 hours.
It's 11 hours of driving and 14 hours to do it in. Read this: http://fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/topics/hos/index.htm
Most all of the starter companies you will begin with will have technology to know when you drove when you weren't supposed to. When I first started I accidently only took 9 hours off then started driving again. Since I didn't get struck by lightening, I thought I had found the perfect solution for getting the loads there on time and driving slower/safer. When I scanned my logs in is when I found out they do know and had a lot of violations that could have gotten me fired.
yes by all means you need to reread the hos rules. your either gonna get yourself into alot of trouble or your company is going to take advange of you most both! 11hrs of drive time 14hrs of total on duty time. besides by the time you pull into somewhere to park and get parked. do post, liget post trip, maybe eat, relaxe a little, get 6 or 8 hrs sleep, get up shower, coffee, breakfast and a liget pretrip. not much of your 10 hr break left.
Why? He aint gonna abide by them anyway from the sounds of it. Only once a month like you did before you started driving.
