I found this from a study done by the department of transportation in 2002 concerning truck parking and what should be done about it
Table 17. Parking space utilization: Demand/supply ratio along interstates and other NHS routes carrying more than 1,000 trucks per day.

1Alaska did not report the number of commercial parking spaces; however, the number of public spaces exceeded the estimated total demand.

If you think parking at truck stops is a hit and miss proposition, wait until you have to compete with wealthy "Tree Service" companies (that can afford to purchase or lease property to "stage" their crews) who take up valuable spots at your favorite truck stops. There were 9 DAVEY TREE trucks and chippers taking up 15 PARKING SPACES at the TA on I-94 in Dexter, MI (just outside Ann Arbor). About 3/4 of the other spaces are taken up by IdleAir.

Here is the complaint I posted on the Davey Tree Web site:

Nice, let us know if they reply. I'd really like to hear what kind of spin a corporate pencil pusher comes up with.
