They cant be that good if your only at 35cpm as a new driver. Only exception to those crappy miles is this years winter weather...its been tough this year
There's a driver that posts on here that runs teams for FFE (Frozen Food Express) and on track to make $80K within 12 months. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Transport National might hire you. Transport National www.tntrans.com This company hires new cdl grads and drivers say they can average $1500 weekly. Two terminals in Missouri; Joplin & Springfield.
Thank you. I'm still deciding if I should fish or cut bait. I'm still new so I'll be here for s few months at least but after that if I can find better pay I think I'm gone
Well, after you figure your cost of living on the road, etc, McDonald's might not be a bad alternative
Buddy, hang in there, pay your dues and move on. Find a smaller company closer to wherever you want to be and hire on with them. Smaller operations tend to pay better and it's much easier to stand out.
It is VERY much easy for a new driver to go to the wrong place. Take most any town in the US, go look it up in an atlas. How many times do you see 2-word names? I know of several examples of where the word ridge or springs is added after. Then have some error made in the bills and a poor driver don't have a clue. It has been years and honestly I don't remember the name, but I almost once delivered to a small town near Cleaveland Ohio that was supposed to go to the Cincinnati area. It was only after I got totally lost and called my boss I figured it out. Let's give these new drivers a bit of a break. My own father got Atlanta Texas mixed up with Atlanta Ga. Confusing bills were of no help. Now I will tell you of something else. I can't tell you the number of times when working local my company sent me to the wrong customer. It does happen. @Chebbydriver7195 I seriously recommend you tough it out!
Back in my "trainer" days, I used to tell the "trainees", "whatever you do, DON'T count how many hours you really spent working directly or indirectly for that week's pay."
There’s nothing worse than hating a job so much, you hate waking up in the morning. I was IT Corp. Sales for the last 25 years. For the last 5 I have been burnt out....so I get ya. In oct they offered me a nice package. I took it. Now I can finally get into whatever field I choose. Trucking been a top contender. At 57 (we’ll, in May) I am just looking to work until 60 then retire.
