Sorry for the delayed response, but it was a long week and I crashed when I got home from work yesterday. With regard to your questions, I must first say “The views expressed in this post are my own. They have not been reviewed or approved by Quantix.” Since we're still operating as Mid-States Packaging (MSP), it sounds like some things you've mentioned will indeed be changing over the next few months. In short, from everything I've seen and heard so far, Quantix management will be making some very positive changes for us drivers and I look forward to that. The current situation is pretty good IMO, but I think it's going to get even better. Regarding pay, for those of us running out of the South Portland Yard (SoPo), we currently get paid by-the-load unless doing something like running equipment down to MA. When that happens, it's a fair hourly rate IMO. The current benefits plan is pretty good, although that too sounds like it will get better when Quantix has complete management control. As far as the schedule goes, that depends on the loads being delivered. I've been working six days a week, but get home every night. We strictly have Mack daycabs running out of SoPo, and I have no idea if that will change to include any sleepers. I believe some major changes in our day-to-day operations will begin within the next two weeks, but I haven't heard all of the details yet. As far as who our customers are, I can't reveal that information. However, I can say that we are currently only doing dry bulk out of SoPo, but I'm not sure if that's going to change. In closing, I'm very positive about the changes coming under Quantix management. Like you, I like doing dry bulk and hope to be able to stick with it... but we'll see what happens with the upcoming changes. If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know. Otherwise, good luck with the rest of your application and/or interview process.
Thank you for the information! I’ll be talking with them this week to find out more. I’m glad you like it there and it’s refreshing to hear a review from someone that doesn’t bash their company. I’m happy with my company, but I’m looking for a change. If Quantix is meant to be, then great. If not, I’m happy where I’m at and I’ll keep looking until something better comes along. If I have any more questions, I’ll send you a DM. Thanks again
Please share what you learn after speaking with them. I've been looking at them also, but down in the Houston area. Thanks!
I've seen a lot of MSP trucks going in and out of that big plastic pipe plant across from the Buc-ee's in Wharton. And now that MSP and Quantix are the same I'll bet they load at Formosa in Point Comfort. Probably other places too.
I talked to the recruiter about 2 weeks ago and she was going to forward my information to the terminal manager and have them reach out to me. But I haven’t heard anything back from the terminal manager. So, I guess they don’t need drivers that bad even though they’re running ads daily.
I would go to the terminal and talk to the terminal manager myself. The hiring decision is his to make. Make a good impression and you'll probably get in.
MSP did have 6 to 8 trucks dedicated between Point Comfort and Wharton.... NaYa & plastic pipe plant (Eagle?)
Just checking to see if you've heard anything yet? There have been some changes taking place slowly, so that may very well be part of the delay.
I have not. I have this Monday and Tuesday off, and I’ll probably take a trip down to SOPO. Is the office on Rigby Road?
