Company sent me to a shipper do all the loading, securement, tarping on a large pain in the a__ load. Then drive it less than a mile and wait all day for another driver. He takes the loaded trailer. I get his empty. They called this a repower. Pure BS. Never left the zip code, so no mileage pay. This pisses me off. That is all.
Tarping is $40 total. So I will get $20. How long do it take? Securement + tarping took 3 hours. Difficult load with variable heights and 3 tarps that we’re all frozen solid. The repower meetup is also a pain. Other driver just drops a bunch of equipment and happily hits the road.i waited all day. Not doing anything here but venting.
Wow, that stink 3 hours work for $20 which doesn't include time getting loaded and hooking/dropping trailer etc etc. Sounds like a raw deal for sure.
I made $20 today. One half of the tarp pay. The hard half. Untarping is easy. Ya $200 would be fair. I’m exhausted, filthy and ...still empty.
This is literally the first time I have ever publicly criticized my company. So let’s just say they are a well known large flatbed company. I honestly have never been this mad at them. I’m just talking here. I don’t think complaining about it to them will get me a #### thing. I just wrote a huge nasty letter to the employment services dept. took an hour. Then I read it and just deleted it. That letter was gonna get me nothing.
Would that be System transport out of spokane, wa? If so, I worked that ####ty company as well and to be honest most mega companies take advantage of you as a company driver. I left System cause I found better company to work for. My advice is don't stay at low end companies such as this one, you deserve better than this. Today they took advantage of you, tomorrow they will take advantage of next guy and will keep repeating this over and over to benefit themselves. Work smarter not harder.
