I think the OP might have a slight ego issue because at his age, he's got a pretty good job. When he was 18, when his peers were flipping burgers or stocking shelves, he was entrusted with $100,000 worth of equipment and who knows how much $$$ in freight. That, along with his paychecks that were probably 2 or 3 times what his peers were making, can have a tendency to inflate one's ego.

I predict he'll probably grow out of it once he realizes that many of his peers who went to college are making more than he is now. If he can keep his ego in check and realize that driving a truck does not make one a folk hero these days, and focus on doing his job instead of trying to be a YouTube celebrity, he could be a valuable asset to this industry. Right now I don't consider him an embarrassment to the industry or to his company, but I don't think he's helping anything either. At the most he's providing some entertainment for his friends back home.

And I also think we can cut him some slack simply because he's so young and still has a lot to learn about things.

There's a Love's right next door. Or a savvy driver could have gone under the bridge on the north side of 84 frontage road leading up to the Swift terminal and parked along the side like so many trucks do....

    This is a great post!

Troutville, VA. Not Troutdale, OR. I've been confused by that too, when someone was complaining about that place. There's a TA in both places.

It's really bad if you're in one of them and realize you're supposed to be in the other. :biggrin_2554:

I guess you should try reading it a bit better.

It was the LAST spot there at the truck stop. Now, where should he have parked then?

Not that I condone it, but with the HOS things have to be done.

    Now answer the question.

Where should he have parked then?

What if it was you in the truck and you are out of hours?

    Where will you park?

    Especially in that area.
