Hey all, does anyone have experience with utility trailers? They seem to be half the cost of any other brand. Is this because they are crap or just competitive?

Half the cost? Where are you shopping for them? I bought a new Utility reefer last year for $90K. The prices were close to the same as other brands from what I've seen.

That’s strange. Utility is the leader in reefer trailers. You must be talking about used reefers. My 2019 reefer Utility trailer was about 68.5k last year. It includes FET and other fees.

Sorry, I was wrong on my price. My 2019 Utility reefer was $72,500.

As far as I know Utility and Great Dane are the top of the line reefer and dry vans.

Both have traile models that are top of the line and other models that are not so top of the line.

We’ve had great luck with Utility, Great Dane not so much..

    *edit*
Our Great Danes are heavy, more expensive, and leak..

Both good trailers, the G.D. was the heavier of the two, a little better quality, and more $$$ if I remember correctly....Nowadays though, not to sure about it

I just priced out a new dry van. Similarly specked Wabash, Great Dane and Utility all are about 31k

I had a Utility combo flat that treated me well, no issues I wouldn't expect with any other wagon the age except maybe Mac, Reitnouer, or East.
