This is probably the best trucking job I've had. I'm sure some details will vary by terminal and job, but I've been very satisfied. I run regional and usually leave out Monday morning, returning home Friday afternoon/evening with possibly 1-2 nights home during the week. Occasionally there will be a delay loading or unloading, but they pay detention without issue. The pay has also averaged out better than I was originally told to expect. Benefits aren't the greatest, but they're there, insurance options and 401(K). The biggest complaint I have is the trucks. They're spec'd relatively well for creature comforts, but are lower power and are mostly governed at 66, though some are being increased to 70. Running bulk, we usually are grossed out and I don't expect to run up a hill at the speed limit, but I've been pulled down under 15 MPH before and am often under 40 in 65-70 zones. There's never any trouble getting problems fixed and the shops work hard to keep the trucks and trailers in the best shape they can be.
