Probably. Nothings easy or simple anymore. Everything’s just one big hassle.

I sure get a kick from the Suburu commercial, with the Bulldog driving the Volvo, little puppy in Suburu giving the arm pump. Cracks me up.

They are going to sell them to the new lease ops that were never trained to drive a standard, drivers with a bum knee so would prefer not to have a standard, and the ones that sit in too much traffic and don't want to mess with a clutch.

I was never so happy to have an auto than when I finished a delivery in San Diego at 1700 and needed to get to the rest area on I5 near Pendleton

The older first couple of generations of Automated transmissions that had a clutch peddle..... were easy to convert. Next couple of generations you needed a competent mechanic. Talked with a good mechanic recently that said, with newer trucks, the time and cost swap out harnesses, computers, and everything else it is to expensive to convert, either way.

So this Love's in THE COMMUNIST STATE has broken our streak.

Today is Day 10, day 2 on caps, and the first coffee and thermos refill we've had to pay for during the current trip.

    The OM is not surprised.

Maybe the autos will be so undesirable, they’ll be cheap. A small Outfit might benefit by hiring restricted Drivers. Given that this Industry is quick to find any exploitive advantage. Win win!!! Yes the New O/O average model may be just that. Reminds Me of the old Pam cabovers. 6-7 yr old 11.1 Detroit’s, 700k mikes, sold to O/Os at Mohawk, Owned by Pam’s biggest shareholder, the Guy who started Pam. Price was $30k, 0 dn. 0 interest, $750 mo. for 4 yrs. The engines usually blew, halfway through the deal. O/Os were too broke to fix it. At that point no one cared either way. Mohawk got their freight moved cheap, Truck was junk, O/O was glad to be out of it.
