And pay for the gas with what? You think these drivers have hundreds of dollars floating around when they were working for a company that just went under and have no idea where they'll get their next paycheck?

$200.00 is better than nothing, but it won't get you far. It's much cheaper for Freightliner to pay $200.00 for delivery to one of their dealers than to send out and have it picked up or towed. They also know the longer the truck is away from them the more damage to the truck, either by vandalism, and the drivers or the company stealing things off of them.

If you are out there and don't have a credit/debit card with enough funds.....well, never mind. I wish them all well. I've been thru it twice........

sure they might have money on a debit or credit card, but the ability to replinish the checking account or pay the credit card bill next month is bleak at best. The reality of it for some of these drivers is sheer hell right now. I wonder how many are having their wives take back Christmas gifts today.

I don't know about ya'lls hoods but around here almost nobody has christmas lights up. Compared to other years its very noticeable.

I know a lot of folks that are hurting badly. One in particular hasn't had work for several years. Hes applied every where he could. Since hes white, older and "over qualified" he can't even get an $8 or $9 hr yob. To top it all off his wife has medical issues for christmas.

My sister's husband is 95% out of work. Her friend's husband is 100% out of work. I've been on 40% work since Oct.

A LOT of folks are hurting across the country this year.
I'm afraid its only going to get worse.

Wow, that sucks. Drivers anxious to get home for Christmas and they're stranded with no ride home hundred of miles away. :biggrin_25513:

    And DC doesn't seem to give a ####. :biggrin_25513:

Not about the working man/woman/taxpayer they sure don't. If you aint a union stooge or a community rabble rouser they don't want any thing to do with you other than to steal your money.

I've always hoped that we would avoid another revolution and resolve our issues peacefully. But the leftist anti American party is running a warp speed to destroy this country.
I'm telling you there is going to come a day when enough is a enough and Americans are going to put a bloody stop to this. That will be a very sad day after hundreds of sad days leading up to that day.
The blame for this mess rests 1 million percent on the heads of all politicians and their hate America supporters.

Racist guilt whether perceived or imagined has given us obama. It sure looks like their hate America guilt is going to give us Detroit nationwide.

You are too young to remember the 70's and all. It was no rose garden for many years.

    1973 to 1982.

I remember it very well. Not as bad as things are right now. Well, the Carter era comes in a close second. At least we had factories to go back to when things started to improve back then.
