I would like to get some more information from anyone who can tell me if a recent misdemeanor from 3 years ago for petty theft will stop me from companies hiring me after school. I have other misdemeanors throughout the years also for petty theft and disorderly conduct. Like I said the most recent 3 years ago. Thank you.
At every one of the 7 companies I've driven for, I recall them only asking about felonies. Don't recall ever being asked about misdemeanors. Not saying some companies don't though.
I was asked to list and explain my misdemeanors. They accepted my answers, which were basically “I was stupid, younger, and I don’t do that anymore.”
With as bad as companies are hurting for drivers you could probably have a record of murder, and as long as the victims aren't related to the guy hiring you'll be fine.
Theft is a big deal my guy, misdemeanor or not. Get a lawyer and have him try to purge your record. Say it's preventing you from making a living.
I have the same charge alone with 4 others including a dui. Some under 5 years .. I've had multiple companies offer me a job. So you'll be fine
