I use the uniden r3. Works wonders and has saved me thousands in speeding tickets at this point. Understanding how false positives happen is also something to read up on, once you do, you’ll realize that no matter the product, you are going to have false positives. You’ll also learn your detector as the behavior is almost consistent when it is from a cop.

I’ve also heard they are not allowed in commercial driving, idk, I’ve had 4 inspections at the weight station and not a single officer said a thing about it. Nonetheless, they are small, compact and can be easily removed and hidden in a backpack or something if needed

Are you thinking of a radar jammer? Totally different but illegal as #### on any car

Of course, it is just my opinion; but, as good as the brakes are on my truck, and as good as some California highways are, 55 mph is ridiculously slow, not to mention the shear size of the state if you have to traverse a good portion of it.

Either follow the laws of the state, or don't go there. It's fairly simple.

I’m inclined to agree with what others have posted about California. Speed just a little and drive conservatively otherwise and you’ll likely be fine. I’ve passed or been passed by cops doing as much as 10 mph over several times. I think they are looking for bigger fish such as obviously reckless drivers, illegal trucks/cars, etc. Certainly though, it is still a risk.

Improper lane is worse than speeding in California.

I think you mean driving in the money lane(3rd lane). You won’t believe how many drivers I see in the money lane and number one lane.

Some detectors are invisible to the VG-2 detector detector the cops have .

I mounted my detector in an external speaker case and wired it to a switch on the CB , like the night dimmer switch or something .

it’s only illegal if you get caught .
And if it’s switched off when they are hunting it , they won’t find it .
Drives the revenue collecting dirtbags crazy when they can’t find it .

If only the cops would put that much effort info catching the people who burglarize
    You house or car ….

Listening to some Older Hands in the early 2000 decade, probably on 19, Texas used to be 55. Two days+ to get across on I-10 and before my time of driving.

I used to drive in California like in Ohio when OH was 55 : at 58-60 W/WO Trailer. There were LOTS OF DRIVERS THAT DID SUCH.
I was passed by numerous CHP'S doing 58-60 in a Bobtail Freightshaker on Highways, specifically the I-15.
All that was BEFORE that 5 minute idling B.S.
I didn't park in Chino truck stops. I parked in Hesperia near my parents house, few nights.

NEVER used "speed detectors or jammers". Didn't believe in them.

TRUCKING WAS FUN WHEN IT WAS!!
