Had that same cable. Ran it from the headphone jack on my laptop to the aux port on my truck radio when watching movies. My version of surround sound.

 

Move the Alarm Clock out of its 'normal' spot,,,say, to up on the dash. Alternative: hook up that red wire coming out of the alarm clock to your left big toe, and the black wire to the right big toe. Hope for the BEST when the alarm goes off!!!
