12.7 Detroits blowing radiator hoses due to coolant additives????

    That's what the garage superintendent had the mechanics doing. The only reason he got the job, everybody in his previous department wrote "glowing" recommendations to get rid of him. He's about as useless as they come. Every filter change got a filter with the highest power/most additive in it. The mechanics didn't know what additives were in the filters, they just installed what was purchased for them.

    They are working towards getting everything the same, but they won't make changes until the warranty runs out. We have several detroits, 1 MB engine (they saw a fool coming when they sold us that piece of ####) and now on the newest trucks, we've gone to ISX's. The ISX's have their own set of problems.

    After I posted my update, one of the detroits blew a 3rd head gasket. Waiting to see what the cause was. I'm guessing that one has a liner protrusion issue.
