Actually I can’t feel it in the shifter. It’s only under acceleration or deceleration. I just drained the fluid through a screen with some heavy magnets, and it’s as clean as can be. It’s a bit darker red than new, but no metal particles to be found. I’m really confused what’s happening. You’d think a broken tooth would have been caught by the magnet?

If your truck is talking to you listen , you don't want to wait for the big hook and pay alot more..

Then put that aside and grab your flashlight an take a peek inside where the fork rides the cluster gears..think there's an oil pump in there too

Is the shifter tight.. no rotation .like if you were going to turn it like a door knob?

High gear is closest to the input shaft. So its possible to be a bearing. But could be a worn fork, something in the counter shaft or even a broke tooth still. No telling where the piece is. They don't always come out with the oil. Could have already been ground up and a small flake between gear teeth is your noise.

Thing is it won't get any better

    Hammer166 and BigCam9670 Thank this.

Well it was put in 2007. That’s all I know. Guess anywhere from 500 to 800,000.

I’m guessing it’s nothing that could be fixed while it’s in the truck.
