18 speed shifting questions

Actually it the same as a 9 speed, on the 13, you can split the high side, on the 18 you can split the low and high side

 

Some 10 speeds can be up rated to, but they become 15 speeds

Ya, I see in the video how they are doing it, using the clutch to release the torque instead of just using the accelerator like you do when you float. He even said in the video how you have to pre-select gear changes hehe.
