I was given a misdemeanor for being in the city with hazmat. And a ticket for failing to follow the control device ( avoid the city with hazmat sign) they droped the hazmat charge in lu of paying the max on the ticket.
Guess the sun does shine on a dogs ### every once in awhile.

There are several signs about no hazmat loads before you get to the tunnel. I hauled fuel in Cincy and never had problems. 471 is the way to get around that tunnel. Also anyone heading north thru Cincy hazmat loads are not allowed on the bridge. With that construction on the bridge that will last all summer long you’re better off going arouns Cincy anyways

I heard Columbus was really bad if you have hazmat.

Dam. Can the misdemeanor go away over time? Either way best of luck.

I could have had it expunged. But they droppes it all together. All I got was the out of place ticket. So just a normal moving violation.

Good news that they dropped it. You probably feel a whole lot better now. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us. 8’s, 6’s and all the good numbers right at you.

    Good! Always fight it!
I hope the moving violation they gave you is not the type of "disobeying control device" because depending how it is coded it can be classified as a serious moving violation - at least here in Illinois. I got one like that once in Omaha, NE, I did not notice a "truck detour" sign on I-80 and a "special" DOT cop pulled me over and gave me the citation. I had to go through all kinds of hoops and loops to amend it down to a non-moving violation. I had to go and sit in a class for 4 hours... not to mention lawyers fee and such. I wonder, if such deals are still possible. Anyways, it could have ended up much worse for you, just be careful now.
