I looked at the valve and they really look like they are tied together. The black hose that you see coming off the pump where does that go?

from what i see in the photo it looks bad. On the top of the compressor there needs to have a flexible stainless pipe.(5'or6' long) The black line#8(with cover plastic) it needs to come from the firt filter(small) or from the fuel tanks.to the transfer pump,!!! from what i see it looks like the line going to the reserve air tank is missing.and first filter before trasnfer pump

Are you sucking in air or is air being built up ?
Does your filter blow out air or suck it in when you loosen it up after you run out of fuel ?

I am betting it is sucking air into the system. I would start by rechecking every connection and and fuel line on the truck . I might even put all new fuel lines on it to be sure I didn't have one sucking shut on me .

Ok got that figured out, the line that was hooked to the small fuel filter was an air line that went to the air pump and the black line went were the other line was. But the truck will not start on its own without spraying a little starting fluid in it and when you turn it off it keeps running and the fan stays engaged even after air pressure is built up. BTW I didnt put this motor in Im just trying to get it right.

When you turn the key on/off listen for the clicking of the shutoff solenoid. That could be a problem.

Maybe change filters.... I have gotten bad filters before to where they would let the fuel drain back down into the tank out of the filter. I'd have to pump the primer pump while someone was turnign the truck over to get it to start. It could also be a filter base is cracked causing air to get in also...

Have you checked fuel pressure? It should be up around 50 at an idle.

No havnt checked fuel pressure yet. Now I can turn a wrench but Im new to all this, were is the shutoff solenoid? Its starting better but still hard start. Im thinking its something to do with all the wires that go to starter etc.. because I have already found two ground wires that the guy didnt hook and I cant seem to find anything that showes or tells me were the wires go that all bunch up there. They look right but its such a cluster right there.

Best bet is to take all wires off of battery and starter and clean them real good.

The solenoid is ont he back of the fuel pump with the 2 wires runnign to it.

Sorry for all the questions but this thing is a mess:biggrin_25521:. Ok solenoid it has a power and negative, the power first and negative towards block? This guy put a clutch in to and I noticed today the pedal seemed a little weak well if you try to put it in gear it just grinds and if you put it in gear and try to start ( yes clutch pedal to floor) it tries to start it in gear and move the truck. What has this guy done now?:biggrin_2556:
