You could be working at McDonalds doing 20 hours weekly, getting paid 300 bucks, every 2 weeks... and that Swift ranking system is the kind of corporate stuff I want to avoid. I used to work for Walmart and they made us do the squiggly...a stupid dance before a shift, spelling out WALMART.

Bronze should be nit-wit for starters :)

It seems every counter offer or decline counts as a turned down load.
I asked my DM about this a couple years ago. The system was new at the time and he didn't know, but that is how it works.

Back then I got a monthly report about such things - my idle time, turn down percent, out of route miles...
I don't think I've heard anything about anything (except for the monthly automated messages about my idle time) for nearly 2 years now.
They have given up on me, and finally realized that those things are not as important as being on time and safe.

And that is what the new drivers need to understand, instead of succumbing to the small things thrown at them.
Be safe and accident free, pick up deliver on time.

And being on time does not mean what Plus-1 throws at you - it is what you agree to AFTER you might use Mac 9 to adjust the times.
    Learn the system!
Once you accept a load you are bound to a contract.
But like many have said, there are exceptions now and then.

    It is.
If you can't move up from Bronze you have no reason to be here.

    Interesting.
On dedicated, I don't have the option to do anything but accept. If I don't accept it is either forced or given away to another.... Depends on the season.

The routes I hate I have stopped accepting, but so far I still get them.
I just prefer not to show volunteer, in the unlikely event bad things happen.

Anyway... My trainer gave me the impression that a counter instead of a decline keep your percentage in order??

I need to stop relaying that info, if it is incorrect.

It might. The counter option is new and I've never asked if it counts like a decline.
When there were only the two options you would decline the load and put the times you wanted in the space provided.
The only thing that changed was that third option to counter, so perhaps your mentor is correct.

I never get told my turn down ratio any more, in any case.

Wow, I remember times like this being new and otr with Swift. I admonish every Swifty I see to talk to their DM about going dedicated (if they have a clean driving record). I was depressed when I was otr, went dedicated at .41 cpm and I average $1100 gross weekly. Also I'm home every weekend and 1 or 2 nights during the week to put my mushroom tip in my wife. And here I was crying about the dash cam in my truck. Many have it much worse than me.

I've helped out on Target and Walmart accounts. I just don't like it.
OTR is the right thing for me, and my situation.
