going from Bloomfield MO to Dallas TX. Going to be super heavy and I'm not sure if it's worth it to take the 67>62>67>167 from Bloomfield to Little Rock or just go 40 miles OOR and take 55 to 40. Any advice?
It's about the same amount of time. US67 below Newport runs into a little bit of construction at Bald Knob and again in Jacksonville. And Little Rock, 440 is undergoing rebuilding with lane changes you will be using part of it to stay on the 30 to Dallas. Best to use 40 past Galloway towards the split for 30 on the left into and across downtown Little Rock and get through it. As long there is no wrecks 40 is not bad. 55 into memphis is the same old. Then 40 west is another 100-160 miles to little rock. If you use the 30 from 40 in Little Rock, do not whatever you do use the right hand two lanes at the two large giant churches by the hill. You need to be in the inner left otherwise you are going to hit Oklahoma the hard way on the right two lanes when it splits. If you are Hazmat, use the 440 west and south. Do not get off onto 630. Especially at night. It's a guns free zone.
You are welcome. US 67 for me was not a bad road into St Louis area. It was more my pace and not much difference back in the day. I found 55 to be difficult at times. Probably because too much overnight to Chicago for me. But today, the interstates should be in decent shape as long no one screws it up and wrecks. If necessary you can hop south and try US70 alongside 40, but you have been warned that road is very deadly for stupid reasons.
Ah no biggie. Swung through the new love's on 60, everything checks out. Only 79k lol. Gotta love that kitty litter. Stopped at the pilot on 55 now. Need some of these cheap MO cigs while I'm here.
Memphis 40 west scales are grumpy. They can be grouchy at times checking everything. Other times.. make whoopee they are closed. There is however a tiny two laner off 55 about a hour from memphis 64 I think it is, sneak that one past two large intermodal yards to 67 south. However, everyone and their family clogs that road so... it's a bit of work.
