"we can be here all day/night diagnosing your problem. take it to a shop."
FYI: I am going to take it to a shop to get fixed or I may just redo the complete system. Figured I would post here since this is a forum for help and see if it was something quick and easy.

Not sure if in 2000 reciever/dryer had a sight glass or not. If it has a sight glass look for bubbles which usually means you are low on freon. Best plan is put some gauges on it and see where you are at. There are some other threads on here that maybe offer more experienced advise. I could be wrong on that it could be thedieselgarage.com. There is a guy that goes by sledman that seems to know A/C pretty well. Good Luck!

Do not redo the whole system, have someone put some gauges on it and go from there. Usually anytime someone opens mine up i put a dryer on it,just to be safe. It probably is quick and easy but the gauges will tell where to start.:yes2557:

ok guys, i have to agree with The Admiral on this one. Put some gauges on it first and check your pressures. That will tell you what is going on. Also i didnt see anyone say anything about a fan. Is the fan cycling or on all the time? This can have an effect on the system. Being a mechanic i always start with the gauges and check pressures. A dirty condensor can also cause high pressures in the system and a lack of cooling in the summer. If you can get me the guage readings i can lead you on the right path to fixing it.
