Sometimes new lease drivers still have the miles=smiles mentality. It's hard to break that habit of being excited over 1k+mile runs.
Since it's a % deal, you have to put the big miles mean money mentality to the side.
As states, shorter runs and lots of them will end up paying more, in theory, than big miles.

Hopefully the op realizes this before it's too late. You guys are spot on with the shorter runs

Unfortunately, the numbers the OP mentions is still higher than several of the megas and even some of the not-so-megas. Granted, those megas and mediums are paying mileage, but it sounds like with 2 trips booked, he has the miles. JCT at $0.90, Schneider Tank at $1.15, Swift has a sliding scale ($1.08ish if I remember), Dart is less than that.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. As a percentage lease, you don't care how many miles you run. You can NEVER figure that if you hit a mileage point, you will make a certain amount of money. It is all about the REVENUE per week. That is your goal. And you should be striving to get that as high as possible while driving the FEWEST amount of miles possible. That is how you make money as a percentage operator.

Keep me posted, im also looking at leasing through Quality, but probably not with Celadon. Gonna try PTL they pay 70%of linehaul, $250wk for escrow tag permits etc $545wk for truck, nit restricted to the crappy Maxxforce (maxxcan) prostar.

    Joe.go and crb Thank this.
