That's ridiculous..time is one factor you can't control.
Saying you need to get better paying freight I will agree on..saying it will give you more time has nothing to do with it.
Even giving yourself plenty of time to make a delivery there's always something that can throw you off(traffic, breakdown etc).

You missed understood. I didn't say it creates extra time. I said it doesn't require much time. My best net weeks I've been done before lunch time every day of the week. If a great paying load only takes 4 or 5 hours to load, drive to delivery point and unload, you never burn enough hours to ever worry about running out of your 70.

Bottom line, management of expenses fuel, food etc are the name of the game.
Fuel milage can make or break you.
Granted rates have to make sense, you not running a charity.
Fuel discounts can play a role big time.

This is a good post. Valid points. Having no one else depending on him is a great time to try to fulfill his dreams.

If food is factor on the success or failure, then you're in trouble before you even start.

You don't have to explain yourself to nobody!! It's your life and your business, not theirs!! I don't explain myself to no one. Good luck!!
