Haha no. I am just boggled about the whole .38 cpm. Why do you guys want to help a company that thinks so little of the driver by paying them so low.

Do they keep up with maintenance on their equipment? Do they only buy owner operator spec'd equipment for company drivers to drive? Sorry. Don't mean to come on here as a troll. i currently work for a FedEx ground contractor. We have nothing but drop and hook, we drive 2016 780 auto volvos and I am home everyday. I run way over 2700 miles per week. I get paid over .45 cpm. I used to also work for Saia freight as a local delivery Mon thru Fri. And grossed what you guys do on a 3000 mile a week on just five days of local work. I don't know about you guys but I love money and home time with my kids and you can get both of those worlds

That's a relief. Again, CPM is just a number. Look at Poly Trucking, .50 pm off the hub, if the truck runs, how about Heartland, .52 pm, 1800 miles per week. Cargo Transporters, .44 pm, 2000 miles per week. If you really want facts, I'll keep my $52k ytd job and enjoy my hometime with my wife in our big house in South Florida. By the way, my CPM is north of what they advertise.

Dude, you know who controls this truck? Me. Not someone back in an office in Richmond. As a 38 year safe driver, I got here one way, by listening to myself, not someone on the other end of the phone or QC. As a trainer here, what I say goes, not what someone in an office says. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but if you were in my truck and we're tired, the truck would stop. I don't run this truck in any unsafe manner. I promise my wife every time I leave her that I will be home under my own power, not in a box. My problem? I've been out here to long to put priority on the freight instead of myself.

With that being said, we as trainers do have a schedule to meet, if you as a trainee is taking too long, then we get back to Richmond and sit down with the training department to see what can be done to get you up to speed. It can be switching of trainers up to being let go.

I love my life, I love my family, there isn't a thing in this world I put before them, especially this job and training.

It's all what makes you happy. I live in South Florida, been driving for 38 years, have a wonderful wife, I have what is considered a great life. I have saved for my retirement every year for 36 of these 38 years I've been out here, 3.5 more years I'm done, this is my 5th job in 38 years. Your opinion is just that, yours. We all like it here, I especially do.

There are a lot more companies that say they will get you home weekly.... Abilene does... And especially when we need to be home.

Feel free to take one of those other options...
Feel free to chase those CPM...

As for me, I'm rather happy right where I am. But thank you for your valuable insights and opinions.
