Yea, i drive lol And no, not for this company. I know how dispatchers work, and I know how they think..youre new, therefore they're seeing what you're made of, and if you can be a team player. Im not digging you, just offering suggestions because I've been where you're at.

You are reversing them prior to giving them to the shipper right? It's a secret code so that no one else can take our loads.... ;-)

Glad you didn't have to deal with the lumper issue.

    Redtwin Thanks this.

Then where is my chicken dinner?? Lol Charlb, I really do hope things turn around for you, I know how it is struggling with a new company because you have high expectations. Do everything you can do, and let the chips fall where they may.

LOL, not sure who owes you a chicken dinner (or why?) but I sure got the rest of it. Thank you! I'm sure it will. :) ... Perhaps it starts with my new DM?

My first one is a really nice guy personally but on the business side of things, we just couldn't see eye to eye on how to best utilize my time out here. For example, I'm currently set up recapping since yesterday. I insisted I needed a reset 2 days ago but nope, he knew better. The result? I had to sleep at the shipper last night as I had no hours. No big deal there but, I got to run a whopping 6.25 today for 320 miles (bad traffic on 95) and I'm sitting in PA since 10am for another 14 hours waiting for more to come back to finish the run. When I unload tomorrow at 8am in Riverview MI, I'll have to wait until midnight again for more hours. Not very efficient in my humble log book. Not for them, not for me. But he says "this is how runners run for miles". LOL ... seriously?

Personally, I really don't get the whole "Driver Manager" thing? I never had one before and I ran very well. I don't need to be "managed" and nobody outside my truck can manage my time better than I. I guess we now live in a world where drivers need their hands held or maybe wake up calls or something? ... :binky:

    I don't know. :dontknow:

The only reason I see for having a DM is to have a direct, quick line thru to dispatch when something like weather, accident blocked roads or a blown tire ... etc.... etc.... would delay the pickup or delivery. Other than that, I see no need to call one IF things are running smoothly. When I drove for WS I spoke to either dispatch or the planners directly and things ran very smooth. In fact, I can say I've had the same experience here at Abilene already. Hence my post about Tracy the other day. I called my DM and it was a 20 minute back and forth with no solution. I called dispatch directly (Tracy) and problem solved in under 5 minutes. Sooooo .... I'm confused here? LOL Hardly. ;)

Oh well, I look at this DM change with a positive outlook as just another step in the process of getting to know Abilene, and them getting to know me. :)
