Yes, 99.99% of the time, they do go above and beyond to help out, especially when you really do need to get something done. Heck, they dh me out of Chicago back to VA when my mother ended up in the hospital for a 2nd time.

Is Kimberly the best? That's not my experience. It may be yours. It may be JBs. Everyone's experience is going to be unique to their situation.

As for KD, he may or may not have some valid points. None of us know the 3 sides to this story. We do know; however, the communication issues within the company so it may be that has played a role in his dissatisfaction.

JB, hope all will be ok on the home front. I'm so glad I got the heck out of there when I did. Sending T&P to your wife for her safety and to you for a safe and uneventful trip home

    Well, I tell ya...

The #1 thing I learned from driving with Jerry in Brooklyn is that I really, really don't want to drive a KW in Brooklyn. When I apply a tiny little bit of pressure on the gas pedal, I want the transmission to engage. And in the two KWs I've driven, it doesn't. Stays in neutral. So I push the pedal down a leeeetle bit more. And still nada. So I push the pedal down a leeeetle bit more and then the transmission engages and the whole truck JERKS forward (or backward as the case may be) and I come far too close to taking out some Hyundai or pedestrian than I'm comfortable with.

Fortunately, the powers that be decided to bestow upon me a Volvo. And the Volvo seems to be perfectly happy to engage the transmission after only a small amount of pressure is applied to the gas pedal.

I'm sure I would've eventually gotten used to the KW and it's various moods if TPTB had assigned me one. But I'm glad I don't have to.

Took me a couple of days to get into a truck with a load, for reasons I won't bother enumerating here. The important bit is that I got to deliver my very first solo load, a trailer full of forklift parts to Berea, KY.

Made a rookie mistake and left too early. Should've waited an hour to give me more of my 14 on the unloading side. I made it here on time, but I may not be able to leave without using my personal off-duty driving time.

If they get me unloaded fast enough, I'm gonna head up 75 to the Loves for my 10.

You're going to be at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours getting unloaded. I do this load ALL THE TIME. There is a little truck stop at xit 76 to park at. You will NOT get a spot at that Loves at that time of day. Trust me on this grasshopper.

Congrats on your first load. :)

On the issue with the KW, are you sure it isn't that hill assist feature holding the truck until enough power is applied to overcome it? Even my Volvo will do that at times when it's clearly "in gear". Even on flat ground. I disengage it when needed. Just a thought.

But Sifu, here I sit at the Loves, with my very own parking space! I even backed it in myself, between two parked trucks, which is a first for me, since I never did that in training. (Everything I did in training was either straight pull-through or backing up into a spot with empty spots on one or both sides.) Squeaked in here with 18 minutes left on my 14.

Also had to back in to Dock #1 at that plant, which is right next to a concrete wall/ramp. And had to do it blind side. My first ever real life backing situation without adult supervision. Took me about 10 minutes but I got it in there. After that, a sight-side back into a parking spot here at the Loves seemed pretty easy.

Nah, it ain't that, because on the KW, I'll start rolling forwards/backwards if there's an incline once I take my foot off the brake. The truck is just freewheeling until the transmission engages, and it doesn't engage nearly soon enough for my tastes.
