Ok, Tim is a driver. He took over at the 4mm on 74 in Indiana, drove nonstop to the Loves in Newton IA, at the 168mm for fuel, had coffee then drove to the Flying J in Gretna Ne at the 432 mm. Exactly 1320 miles in 24 hours. I'm impressed, I told him that yesterday and today all I wanted him to concentrate on is getting the feel of the truck and how it handles. Starting tomorrow we'll start the teacher student faze.

Right now I'm just finishing up my 30 minute break in North Platte. I checked the weather, the only place in the country it's snowing is in Jackson Hole where I need to deliver in the morning. Enough already.

I believe Tim is a stage 1 (fresh out of school student) as I met him while he was in orientation. Nice young man. We wish him well!

I feel real confident about his abilities. I specifically asked for a run that had a little time on it and they give me a true team load. Unreal. Left 6am Saturday morning, drove almost nonstop, thru high wind adviseries in Wyoming and a snowstorm up 191/89 for the last 100 miles over night last night. Got to Jackson Hole Wyoming at 6am this morning and was empty at 7am, 2190 miles, I told Tim that without his help the way he stepped up we wouldn't have made it. We are now hurrying to Nampa to get our last drop off before 3pm.

He's new, did 2 tours in Afghanastan, got out and took advantage of the GI bill and went to community college to get his CDL. Good kid, and soon to be good driver.

I would think that Abilene discussed all this during orientation why is he not on here asking these questions? This is basic orientation 101 no matter who you go to work for, it's pretty much the same. Trucking is Trucking anyway you slice it,I got lucky my orientation only lasted an hour and a half, out the door, and go rolling down the road. Good luck to your husband.
