I wouldn't get too hung up on regional or 48 state etc. They will give you whatever load they need delivering and you have hours to run. I'm 48 state OTR and it's not often that I get west of Indianapolis. I'm in Utah at the moment and it's the first time since I went solo last May that I have been given this long of a run from Richmond.

I have been to the west coast once, but that was only because I got bounced over that way doing load swaps in TX and OK for drivers on hometime.

Some more Useless bits of information for today Coal is made of 65-95% carbon and also contains hydrogen, sulfur, oxygen and nitrogen, China mines the most coal with 3.050 billion tons followed by the USA with 973 millions tons. China's coal consumption is around 2.75 billion tons while the USA consumed 651 million tons and we wonder why the sky looks dirty?

Who is consuming the unused Chinese and USA mined coal?.

I figure we can blame the dirty skies on them.

Thanks for the insight, that makes sense. I will proceed accordingly when the time comes. I really appreciate all the "insider information" available here.

Had a late delivery to a Kroger warehouse in Indy last night. Didn't roll out of there until close to midnight. After checking Trucker's Path, I saw that the closest truck stop was the Pilot in Greenfield. And Trucker's Path informed me that there were "Lots of Spots" available.

I thought that was probably wrong. I mean, it was close to midnight. But it was the closest truck stop, and I figured that I could probably get a reserved spot. Worst-comes-to-worst, I could sleep on the off-ramp and wait for a spot to open up in the morning.

It was after midnight when I rolled in, and turns out they weren't kidding. Lot was only about 2/3rds full. Lots of empty spots all over the place. I've never seen a major truck stop on a major interstate that empty at that time of night.

Actually had me a little worried. Like, "What do all of these missing truckers know about this place that I don't? Is it haunted? Maybe it's a haunted truck stop? Is that why there's nobody here?"

Well, I'm here to tell you that if it IS haunted, the ghosts let me have a good night's sleep. Now I'm just waiting for a load assignment.
