I had removed my GPS and other easily stolen valuables and stripped the sheets off the bunk just in case the truck was used by another driver.
There are a few unassigned trucks out front so I doubt yours would be needed.Last edited: Apr 5, 2017

Okay, dumb question time:
I drive a Volvo. I latched my top bunk in the secure position. I've never done this before. How do I release the latches? -

I have been reading through some of the posts here. There is quite a lot of them. I also have looked at the company website. I will tell you a little about my self. I got my CDL in November of 2003 and went solo with my first company in January of 2004. I have been driving OTR and some regional/dedicated up till March of 2014. I got off the road. I worked in a warehouse driving a forklift. I returned to driving a year ago (March of 2016). It is local overnight route in a 26 foot box truck. I am wanting to get back to OTR driving. I have a clean MVR and no preventable accidents in the past three. I live in Akron, Ohio.
I did read in one of the posts here. That they have refresher training. Would I need refresher training? If so. For how long and how much will I be paid? Personally I feel all I need is a 10 or so minutes of backing. Just enough to reprogram my brain that my left is my right and right is my left.The first time I backed up the box truck. I was wiggling like a snake. My brain was so use to backing up my semi.
From what I have read. The company seems to cover the lower 48 with the exception of the north east? At least not much since there are NE drivers that cover most of it. Does that include NYC and Long Island? Though Long Island isn't bad. There are just parts of Brooklyn and Queens that therapy couldn't even help.Luckily I never delivered in Manhattan.
Are their any particular lanes you travel in?

We have NE regional drivers who do nothing but, but that doesn't mean OTR drivers don't get sent there from time to time. I've been to Jersey many times, as well as Philly and upstate New York.
There were guys in my orientation class who came in with extensive experience and were put in a truck that day without training. They might want to send you out to Brooklyn a time or two before throwing you out on the road, but I can't speak for them.
Regardless, training goes as fast as you and your trainer feel comfortable with. There is no set length for training; it's completely up to the judgement of the trainer. So if you roll in and show that you've already got the skills, I expect you'll scoot rather quickly through any refresher training they throw at you.
If you live in Ohio, you will become intimately familiar with the West Virginia Turnpike. We have a few common runs that take us through West Virginia via the Turnpike, up through Ohio on US35, and then maybe onwards to Indy and the surrounding area.
