LOL ... having had such a conversation with Scott, that made me laugh... LOL :D

Can you just imagine having that conversation every other day with half of your driving fleet... LOL

Discussing politics in any thread that's not in the politics section is a good way to get a thread locked.

The best pass placement depends on what kind of truck you have. Since I have a Kenworth I was told to place it top center of the windshield.

That's one aspect I did like with Abilene. They would keep things changing just enough for me. If I was getting tired of the Gatorade runs they would change me to more regional stuff... then once and awhile they would toss me on a nice coast to coast run which I would see a lot of beautiful country that it felt like a little working vacation... and then back to more regional.... Or Gatorade...

For me, it was a very nice mix.

And the White House was illuminated in Blue lights instead of the normal white lights.

So back to the cpm discussion. Weve all seen and heard drivers on the forum and in real life scoff, laugh, or quit listening about abilene once they hear 36 cpm, or elog, or driver camera, or forced nyc, or governed automatic truck etc etc. They never are interested in the rest of the story.

So heres my adventure since sunday morning 4/30. The date of my last reset.

Im currently sitting at halls in nj and drove here overnight. Its the 1st day my recap will prevent me from driving a full 11 if needed. Counting today this is day 18 wo a reset. In that time i had 7992 dispatched miles and rand mcnally says i drove 8094, which is 444 driving miles a day avg. Was paid for 98.74% of driven miles. None were outside of virginia or the northeast.

Those days included 2 sunday drives from richmond to boston, a 2 stopper at grocery warehouses, 1 hill phoenix to a new to me section of brooklyn, and 2 loads that werent going to be ready for pu for days, on the same day. Theres also been some drop hooks in there too. On 6 different days i even got to the house (full disclosure i live right by the rva yard).

In that time the only calls from dispatch have been did u see that load or can you run this. Ive set the camera off almost every day, yet no calls from safety. No one has told me what route to take, where to fuel, when i can and cant run, if i can split my break or not etc. The most ive waited while 'in the field' for a reload has been an hour and this truck hasnt sat more than 11 hours while not in richmond.

The only thing that is different for me is breaks at home have been shorter, and miles have been a lil bit longer. (My 1st 18 paychecks averaged 4500 miles).

I dont post this to brag about my month. This is the best 18 days ive had here and i dont expect them to all be this good.

I post this to show there is far more than a cpm number to judge companies that are accessible to most drivers and are not a specialized niche or require an inside connection.

Got to the Richmond yard yesterday about 5:30. Went to the motel, then left to get here and have my shocks replaced and my batteries replaced. Between the off the chain bouncing and the overwhelming smell of boiling acid, I'm about to take a vacation just to get out of this truck. Also, my last trainee crunched my driverside cab extender, so that was replaced this morning. The new shocks are on and batteries are next.

Found out earlier from Kimberley I have a new trainee that's coming out Friday afternoon from orientation. I was told to leave with a load and she would get him to me via another truck. I'm not waiting. I figure somehow or someway, they'll figure it out.

You guys sure are working a lot! Me, not so much. Not because the freight isn't there, but issues at home. Hopefully, things will be better soon. I really don't know. Its such a long process for my mother right now. Bless her.

I've been trying to keep up with the message board and, while my story here is different, the sentiment is the same as far as how we are all treated. Y'all be safe out there. I've seen way too many accidents posted here lately. Welcome to tourist season!
