Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

I got some news on the pay raise. It's an extra $25 per load, but you have to run into Canada to get it.

I also found out about the total per diem received. It's the negative amount listed on our last payroll stub of 2017. The amount isn't listed anywhere on the W2.

 

For those that hadn’t seen or heard about it. The company lost one today. RIP driver.

Had not heard that, very sad news. Looks like a lease operator truck. One of the Western Stars going by the color.

On hometime,leaving out Monday morning.

Kinda got into it with Chris,told him was tired of the 400 mile bs.All I ask from this company,is to run me,and let me see a different area every now and again.Last 2 months truck hasn't been past Ohio,and I had a grand total of 4000 miles before coming home.

Been with Abilene almost 2 years now,for the most part I like them,but something needs to change.

 

I had a similar conversation with my fleet manager. Told him I felt like the only time I got any loads with legs on 'em was when I asked for 'em, and sometimes not even then. Felt like I needed to be one of those guys who just sits on the porch until a west coast load pops up. I don't need to be running out west EVERY load, but something more often than once every 4 months would be nice.

Things have turned around a bit for me since then, so maybe they will for you too.

 

Wow!!! I'm going through the same thing! And even if I ask the result is nothing! Today I was going through the same way of thinking.... It's boring! Same routes; in the same region. And I clearly put in the Abilene application OTR!
Question for you.... Did you use to drive for Kllm? ( I had a friend a long time ago that had the same name at the forum)
